shad still going strong

I was wondering if the shad where still around on the m channel or that area , I've heard to many story's about the boys around the O.C. area :shocked: getting alittle hot :mad:

Fished oregon city below the falls and banged them up a little. Caught my first four shad of the day on my fly rod. What a blast!! They are still in there pretty good. Its worth your trip. I went out friday afternoon for a couple of hours and there was only a dozen boats on the water. Good luck! :smile:

I fished both days last weekend and hit about 70 of them between the two days. I was using silver and brass wee dicknites behind a jet diver. I was letting the kids practice catching and netting. I anchored below the mouth of the clack in the middle of the river.

I'm not sure, but I think you would have to have a commercial license to pull off something like that...

I fished Coon Island area for Shad on Saturday. No problem getting fish again and again until we got tired of it, we released most of them. Noone else was there. We used Dick Nites on a 30" dropper with a little shrimp smelly jelly.

Down here at the coast, they are selling for 3.50 ea. crab bait...? someone caught 70? x 3.50.... could pay for a trip.
