I was considering getting a custom rod. Can anyone here tell me a good builder locally? How is the quality of Rainshadow rods compared to say Loomis or Lamiglass? Does anyone have any input on TH Custom rods? Your opinions will weigh heavily on my decision.

He's not allowed to advertise on this board :shocked: , but I'll state that he has tied two rods - Raishadow 1263, 1141 - for me of excellent quality and value :smile: . I've also been stoked on the TH Rainshadow 8'6" 10-20 I won for Flotilla 4. If you want to learn how to tie your own, go with BOE. Differences are cost only. Good luck.

Jettin Fool, Building a rod from a good quality blank (Loomis,Lamiglass) isnt all that hard. Its just time consuming ecspecially if you want to get fancy. Ive got three that Ive done. And I've done two others for friends. Havent had any problems. And the benefits are the enjoyment & satisfaction of doing it your self. Not to mention how much money you can save. Have personally seen BOE's work and it's first class. You should contact him before you make any decisions.

It always amazes me how such an ugly guy could make such beautiful rods. Hmmm......
