Good evening all members!! Just find out I'm the very first Canadian member of the forum. That's really surprice me because us Canadiens we love to fish and when we're not at the lakes or river then our favoritte thing would be talking about fishing. :wink: :wink:
Anyway, just want to introduce myself to you all. I have been a sport fisherman for the last 18 years. My first 15 years I have been chasing Salmons in the ocean mostly off the west coast of the Vancouver Island. But in the last three years after sold my 22'Striper.I got minto flyfishing and hooked (vey bad :grin: )till now. I now fish mostly lakes in Spring and Summer then switch to river for Salmon in the Fall. I now have threeways to get to the water. A float tube which I don't use too much now unless the lakes are hike in only., an 8' Zodiac wich I mainly use for Lakes and a 12' alumminum for river.

If any of the member herer have any question about lake or river fishing in BC I'would be more than happy to help out with local knowledge ( in my best ability)
That's It for now ,have a nice evening EH!!! :grin:

PS. how do I get to the Flyfishing live chat?? It is today at 9PM isn't It????

welcome aboard. I have a ? for you. I am thinking of heading up the big island for some salmon fishing. Do they have a good ramp or sling in port hardy or campbell river or somewhere inbetween. I fished port hardy one time quite sometime ago and dont remeber as we went out on a boat that had been moored at the marina.

Troller;
Just north of Seymour narrows is Browns Bay. There is (or was) a resort with minimal amenities there try www.brownsbayresort.com (http://www.brownsbayresort.com)

Neat area just north of Campbell River. We camped at the big park just outside of town and drove up to browns bay for CHEAP boat rental!

It's agood fishing( sometime) destination with many public boat launches. You shouldn't have any problem. But I find It's too much of a tourist trap. Big city and all...
If travel from the south and really want to experience the real fishing adventure. I would suggest the west coast of the Island. Ucluete and Tofino. Great off shore fishing for Salmon and Hali. Be warn the west coast swell can be a problems for most visitors including veterant seamen.Sea sick pills should be wisely consider.
I just came back from Ucluete from one week of fishing. Although,It's still early in the season but still managed realeased over 100 Springs and Cohos and had limit of Halis
Never fish Port Hardy yet but I'll be there in Mid August to beach Flyfishing for Pinks. :wink:
