I've seen boats and plunkers on the Lewis well after legal hours - is it legal to fish at night for steelies or other finned prey?

Yes it is legal. Chances are you've seen my boat as well. We chase steelhead around and we do alright. Mainly we fish until morning for the morning bite.

I think it depends on where you go. Bewtween the reg book and http://www.wa.gov/wdfw/fish/regs/fishregs.htm I don't see how night fihsing is open above johnson creek?

Looks to me like Johnson Creek is the upstream deadline for night fishing. But that is from last year's rule book.
