I am planning on going camping in a few weeks with some friends but the problem is not all of them are into fishing so I was wondering if anybody knows of a good place to go camping where the fishing is good but there also is like a field or something like that close by were you can play soccer and football and stuff like that. Thanks.

If you do not mind going not going far - Oxbow Park. It has a nice campground (a bit rustic) but plenty of fields, playground and hiking for the non-fisherman. McIver State Park is similar - with horseback riding I believe. Both should be good for Spring Chinook and summer steelhead.

One of my favorite camping beaches is at the top of Govt Isle, main channel side. You have a sandy beach which drops off quickly to the main channel. From there, and on shore, you have access to migrating peelers, steelhead, and unfornturantely illegal salmon.
There is no mowed'field" per say , but behind you and up over the rise is a large meadow. The beach is long, although narrow with the water up this high, allowing room for running sports (just ask my dog).
If you're here for the 4th, I may see you there.

Check out fishermans bend on the N Santiam.
There is hiking, horse shoe pits, volley ball,
basketball courts, baseball fields, hot showers.
Right on the river. Not too far from Elkhorn golf course which is very scenic. Just don't tell anybody  .

Probably cant go wrong with Fisherman's Bend  With all the fish in the Santiam right now I'd tell my friends they can play soccer all they want I'm going fishing and I "might" be back for dinner  Lots of great spots up there  Good Luck!!
