score 1 for me.
took the wife and kids out fishen today on the columbia under the 205 bridge.we did ok.but>>when i pulled in there i saw a ancher ball just under water in about 13 feet of water.it had a lot of the green slime on it.so it had been there a bit. when we left i went over to it ,had my kid throw are ancher over it and pull it up .problem was he couldent get are acher up.so i pull.i am a big strong boy
(no not smelling well kind of but back to the point) i pull my rope and the other ball floats away.i pull more tell i got an under water telephone cable to the top.i got my anchor off it then go down to get the floater.i pulled in a (big)heavy rocker anchor and big ball (score over $100.00 for me.)great rig for up at the dam.all of this and no phone # on the ball..i just love it when there is no #"s on you guys balls.oops did i say that?? ??that means i dont have to call and give it back.but i dont need it so i guess i will have to find a buyer now?? so lets start the bidding.do i hear $20.00???

Husker....yes. Name and number on the ball works. Also tackle boxes, inside cover of your kicker motor, dremeled onto your reels.
A good idea for your crab trap floats, too. Honest folks will call and return your gear. Dishonest folks hate to get caught with easily identifiable gear.
Good score Madman, I'll go $25.

Madwizerd you should have pulled up that phone line and kept it all. I would have given you $100 for that . You could have spliced in and made free calls for life. I want to go fishin' with you some day and pull up some weird stuff like that man.

Geez, Crabbait!
You upped the bid and no one else even made one yet!????????
BTW, what do you do with all those shad your daughters and you put in the cooler? I know your name and all, but do you crab every week or what?
Thanks for the tip regarding labeling, makes a lot of sense to do that.
Wiz, I'd bid but am leaving for a week so I couldn't stay active. Need to get rid of that outdated white bucket...
Good luck on WizerdBay!

I sorted out some of the males for peelers. The rest went into the freezer for crabbait.
I bet I'm out of shad and back to using chicken before Christmas. I have friends who go into a feeding frenzy over fresh crab. I never have to worry about whether or not it will keep in the freezer and I have not pulled a trap in years!

Ok I guess it is time to fess up and admit that I lost my anchor at the dam, So when somebody sees a double red bouy anchor system with a 45# galvanized anchor and 20' of 3/8 chian let me know. I know that who ever finds it better be in good shape because pulling that will wear a guy out. How did I loose it you may ask? Lets just say that the water was pumping and I tried to nail a seam and I did but the water was too fast for the leads to hold so I pulled the anchor and my buddy untied the rope from the bow as we were coming dowm on the loose rope and I guess the anchor was not off the bottom and after we had 200 plus feet in the rope was pulling back up river I tolded him to start letting rope out and tie the rope back to the bow. Well lets just say for arguements sake he picked up 100 plus feet in a bundle and threw it over with out tying it to the bow and under the bouys went. And there I went back to fishermans and spent 400 dollars to replace the anchor so we could continue to fish that day.
The good thing was that it is only money and time.

Madwizerd, you are a hoot!!!!!!!!!!!!
You crack me up dude; big time. Well atleast it looks like you have found the owner of that huge anchor ball.
Talon sounds like it's his. I sort of believe him too; even all the way from Texas he sounds convincing. What do you think Madwizerd?
By the way, what are you doing fishing outside of the sandy basin????? Shame on you.

friendly fisherman
""Madwizerd, you are a hoot"
that would explain why my wife is always yelling at me in the middle of the night to get out of that darn tree.
oh and buy the way the sandy is mud brown so i have to go somewhere to fish. i tried the little tank at the pet store last week but i had to run like a mad man when the coast guard got there.
i priced the achor, ball and pulley today and it goes for $147.00. so you guys either don't need an anchor system or you don't know a good deal when i offer it to you.$90.00 sounds like a heck of a good deal to me.so i guess i will have to go put it back where i got it.
so if your phone lines get screwed up tommorow i dont know anything about anything.
