Check the graph, they upped the flow even higher than it was over the weekend, which was moving pretty good.

Steve,
Well Its 3:30 am and Im up and a little p***ed off. I just got a call from the guy I was supposed to fish the south with, he told me to check the river level. The morns up at the dam bumped the river up another 1000 cfs  n now its too high to fish.
We decided to wait until 9:00 to go fish the North. If you get this before you leave and would like to take a float, meet us at Greenes bridge at around 9:30............

My son called the dam today and they said it would be up for at least 5 more days. That would put it up throught at least Monday.

Well guess what. The ***** at the dam dropped the river level to just about perfect last night. This should make those that changed their weekend plans real happy...

I just checked flows for S santiam as of three this after noon 1757cfs. Now if they just keep it there should be good fishing this week end.

there definitely seems to be quite a few fish. the north recently dropped to about 3.6 which is the lowest it's been in a long time. it's very fishable. we've been gettin a few. went down on monday and hooked a few (we only caught one, though, 10 lb. steelie)and saw a couple of limits caught.

I am still pretty new to the area. Are there any bank spots on the N.Santiam? If so, any direcitons would help?
Thanks

Lots of bank spots from the bridge at mehama
up river to mill city. John neal state park, North Santiam state park fishermans bend and a couple more. Follow hwy 22 and look for wide spots in the road as well. good luck.

Another "popular" spot is the north shore at the Stayton bridge. You can walk up and down the river. One spot that I have seen a few vehicles at is go to the Mehama bridge and follow the road on the north side of the river down stream. You can park at Roberts field (little league ball park), its a short walk to the river.
Went over the Mehema bridge this evening and man what a crowd. There were at least ten people fishing off the bridge and at least twenty people on the bank.

Thanks, I am trying a few of them this morning.
Anybody willing to share what optimum flows are for the N. and S. santiam? What's considered summer low?
Thanks.

I wonder if they recycled fish, that's usually when you see crowds around mehama. True sports folks  .
