Yes, 212,000+- shad went over Bonn. 6/9/02, I called the info center at Bonn. to confirm. 4 web sites that list adult passage info also said 212,000 (but the "DART" web site said only like 25,000, but I'd go with the other reports.
Go to the "DART" web site for unbelievably detailed information (what was the barometric pressure at the Dalles on June 15, 1950...I'm serious)
http://www.cqs.washington.edu/dart/adultpass.html
On that web site I looked and, yes, I believe that no other day has ever been higher at Bonn....certainly not for the 9th of June.

For the GORGE, fishing from a BOAT, I've tracked the recommendations of maybe 15 people (I needed to buy a bunch of them, so I figured I'd try to get the best lures instead of buying lures that don't work and I wasted by $ on), and the top 6 most popular seem to be:
1. Dick Nite: pearl/red head
2. Dick Nite: chartreuse on one side pearl on other
3. Dick Nite: red on one side white on the other
4. Dick Nite: brass w/red head
5. Chartreuse 1” (to 2”) twist-tail grubs, on flame red jig head, on 1/32 oz. heads
6. Dick Nite: gold w/chart. head (a guide I fished with for oversized used this color, too.)
Maybe also try just a brass swivel + a #6 siwash hook. The brass swivel seems to attract them in years past, at certain spots on the Columbia.

I stopped by the Bonneville fish ladder on Sunday afternoon after a morning trip to the Wind. I can confirm that there was an absolute flood of shad flowing past the window. When looking at the ladder from above, you could see a steady stream of fish on the surface of the water just flowing through the narrow passage. Not many chinook passing by. In 15 minutes, I saw around 10 of them. No steelhead.
