What can anyone tell me about the regulations in WA between 16' and 17' foot boats? Isn't 16' the cut-off for something?

Here (http://www.wa.gov/dol/vehicles/vs-faq.htm) is a link to the Washington Department of Licensing FAQ list regarding licensing and taxes.
Hope this helps some.

Read this in DB book.
A Drift boat's length the measurement of the length of the side bow to stern (guess which one is the bow...wrong) which was the length of the plank used to build the boat. Anyway, from what I read the 17ft is not truly 17ft, so be aware that it might not be apples to apples when you read the regs.

As long as you do not use a motor (even an electric) on your driftboat, you will be okay in Washington. I have a guide model Clackacraft that I have avoided putting a motor on, in part so I don't have to deal with the license issue. However, the trailer will require a license plate and current tags.

So, my plans were to use a motor with this boat occasionally... Now what?

Anyone here have the time to allow me to check out your boat? I'd like to check out (in order) a #1)willie #2)koffler or #3)alumaweld before I make a long drive down south...Do you mind if I stop by and look and ask questions about your boat?
