View Full Version : Clamming the Mid Coast, Help!

Planning on being in Lincoln City a few days during the week of June 16 - 22. Have never clammed this part of the coast. Would like to take my kids out, decent, not great tides. Any experts out there? willing to share some advice? Siletz Bay, Beaches, Newport area?

From what I have observed you need a very low tide. -2' In Newport S of the S jetty is good too

Heard good reports about Agate Beach just north of Newport, between Newport and the Light House. Keep all valubles out of sight, I'm takeing my dog with me, pity the fool that try's to mess with my rig.!!! My shorthair will lick them to death. If the surf is pounding they might not show, also they are a little smaller than Clatsop / Gearhart. Next year should be a real nice season. Good Luck
