I am going to the oregon city area tomarrow to try for salmon. any suggestions on tackle? I was gong to run the clack, but I am taking my dad and he thinks he will have have a heart attack if I take him on one of those white knuckle rides again up river.
Thats why his Custom Weld has a prop. Hes not a fan of the shallow running jet.

I am also going to take my shad stuff incase I get bored.

Any suggestions on the salmon end?? let me know......

I will be out there tomorrow also. Last week end seemed like prawn spinners were the ticket for chinook and we were getting shad on chartruese and gold or red and sliver dick nites. Boats near the bulk head and at the mouth of the Clackmas were the ones I saw were hookin chinook. I wasn't one of the fortunate ones though , maybe tomorrow!

You might also try up at the falls. There are about fifty boats fishin it today. The shad fishing has slowed way down.
