I am going to fish this weekend on the Clackamas. I am taking a good friend who has never hooked into any thing bigger than a trout. Where should we head? Up at the dam or down on the lower river. We will be on the bank. How has the fishing been in the fighting hole? Is the guy with the red truck still on the war path? Any advice would be appreciated.

I fished the "fighting hole" tonite and the water is up. If it stays high I would fish the upper river, if it drops the "fighting hole" is fine. If it goes WWF down there and I am around, I'll help ya out. The first time I went down there, I was told no bait allowed. I said "dude, this is the Clackamas River, you can use anything, including dynamite!". I proceeded to catch my fish and go home. The next time I was down there, the same guy (bobber fisherman) starts in again, this time about drift fishing. I told him bobbers are for people who can't feel the bite. I left with 2 fish and we have gotten along fine since. Say hi if you see me down there, I wear an "O" (Ducks) hat and waist high breathable waders. Don't let them scare you off. Even that skirt wearin' poodle walker, Catch and Eat gets outta the "fighting hole" alive although fishless, unless he goes with me. Just fish and ignore the guy, you will be fine.

Oh brother :hoboy: Spooled you talk to much. And it is now the WWE Golden Boy. As a matter of fact they have a wrestler on the program now that kind of looks like you. It's name is "Golddust". graemlins/eek13.gif Just don't wear your character outfit on the Clack. (although it probably would not get a second look these days  ).
Anyways, river is dropping and should be decent Saturday. Probably fish up a little higher for this weekend. Too many distractions down in the lower river. Makes it hard to cast and concentrate on fishing.
Speaking of skirt wearing Poddle walking, I'm sure your wife has plans for you this weekend Golden Boy. graemlins/berry.gif

Hey Spooled, what are you drifting? Eggs or Shrimp? Catch and Eat, how big is your Poodle, is one of the big ones or one of those little bitty ones? I have to say that you guy are great. I love to read your stuff. Now let me refresh my memory, the fighting hole is off the end of Portland St, or Ave and then follow the trail and bring a climing rope. Is that correct? I am plannign an early start, but I am still not sure where as of yet. I may start out up at McCiver at the dam and then work my way down.
Good luck to all of you fishing this weekend!
