Fear No Fish is a die-hard night steelheader above McNary in his sled. Maybe you can modify his trolling method for bank use.

He uses modified Lighted Vortex Lures with powder coated glow hooks which he coats and bakes himself. He replaces (& powder coats) the stock hooks with Gamakatsu hooks.

Then he baits the front hook with a marinated shrimp (maybe smelly jelly and garlic).

I haven't seen a post from him in awhile. Last I heard he was ill with a bad case of boat maintenace. :depressed:

If you get the opportunity to learn from him, you're learning from one of the best.

Are all the rivers in Wash. open at night to steelhead?

If I remember right someone once told me it was only the "big" rivers or something I cant remember.

Night fishing is the way to go. No crowds, quiet, no light on the water.

If the water is high or off color try glo balling. If its low and clear sand shrimp or eggs work very well and if its a full moon and decent light you can even use your bobber and jigs

I don't know if it is still open, but years ago I used to fish Blue Berry Creek at the hatchery off the Cowlits at night. It was great, you were allowed 2 fish before midnight and 2 fish after. I used a glow in the dark corkie on a standard drift set up. I used an old camera flash unit to charge the corkie. Fish right off the bank.

Chad,
I'll drag you along this year for some night fishing. 25 hook ups a night makes for no sleeping!
Vinny,
You are a security risk! Loose Lips Sink Ships!
Insurance is covering my motor damage to the tune of $7616.00!!! When I go Vroom again , I will be sure to run you over!

FNF,
That was just a teaser!
I think that I left out a few details such as hook size, quality of different powder coats, type of shrimp, leak protection, rod tip illumination, hook illumination, the other ingredients in your secret marinate . . . . just to name a few.

Chad, FNF is an alright guy for someone who is way past the middle on the "Neurotic - Psychotic Chart!"
