Other than buying a new boat! (thought I'd beat you guys to that one  ).
I've got an early 70's vintage sterndrive that isleaking gearcase oil out of the upper unit. It runs fine, but I can't see polluting our waters. I bought the seal kit, but that looks like a heck of a task, and I would like to have the thing running by Fall Chinook season.
Anyone ever try something like this? I'm afraid there are going to be other problems once I get it apart since it's so old. :depressed:
Or could somebody suggest a good mechanic?
