I will be down around Florence next week for a few days on buisness. Is there any fish to be had? Shad, Salmon?

Coho,

If you can get into the ocean, there are some kings around the area to be had. My dad and brother went out last week and brought home a couple of 20 odd pounders.

If you dont have an ocean worthy vessel, you can always try fishin the jetties for surf perch, greenling, etc.

Also, there are a couple of places along the river that you could hook into a sturgeon. The bend just before Cushman is sometimes productive, as well as the stretch of river around the 7 mile marker. A little ways before you cross the north fork bridge into town, there is a hard to spot turn off that you can get to the river for sturgeon also.

The Siuslaw River is closed to retention of any salmonoid at this time. Well at least I'm pretty sure it still is, check the regs.

Oh, crabbing in the ocean there has been pretty decent. So maybe take along some pots.

If all else fails, there are plenty of lakes around. And dont forget to stop by the Sportsman and get the latest reports.
