I worked that river over... I followed the depths, and studied the fish finder.
BINGO! There's one!

PS... Don't believe everything you read. Well, you can believe MOST of the story.
Bill caught this beautiful 26 pound FAT buck on Tillamook Bay.

Oh yeah-- Notice he is wearing an official ifish hat! This fish comes close to the one that is the current winner, to date. I think it is 39 1/2 inches long and is officially entered in the contest.
This fish was fat, and 36 inches long.
Dang, these coastal fish are beautiful, in and out!
Bill caught this fish using a 2 ounce dropper and a pink rainbow spinner.
I don't know what color of lucky lipstick he was wearing, though.
I do know that I tossed the color I was using overboard.

Isn't that a beautiful thing?
MAN! That fish was FAT!!
Every time I see it I can't help but say it again!
AWESOME, BILL!

Talk about slack bite, too. That fish took that spinner and came right at us!
He said it felt like a mudcat... for a little bit!
I was SCARED to death netting it for him.
He said, "I trust you!!!"
and I said,
"What choice do you have?"
Does anyone else but me feel that it is scarier to net someone elses fish than to land your own? I DO!

What a beautiful fish! Makes me want to abandon the pursuit of Willamette runts altogether! A perfect reminder of the value of the hatchery programs and the fin clipping efforts we should all be involved in!
