I am sure any of the ifish group would let the authorities know if they actually saw this happening, but maybe someone saw somebody with a blowgun in the park but didn't realize what they were doing with it. If so, time to let the authorities know!
Ducks, geese shot with blowdarts at a Gladstone park
GLADSTONE, ORE. (AP) - Police are looking for one or more people who
shot several ducks and geese in the neck and head with blow darts at
Meldrum Bar Park.
The Audubon Society of Oregon and the Oregon State Police are
investigating the attacks.
The birds that survived still swim freely, with darts poking out of
their heads.
Sgt. Chris Allori from the Oregon State Police fish and wildlife
division, thinks someone shot the birds at close range by luring them
with food. He was seeking the publics help in finding the suspect.
"It's really going to have to take somebody knowing something calling us
or calling the Gladstone Police Department and letting us know who's
doing it," he said.
The attackers face misdemeanor animal abuse charges and a felony charge
of unlawful use of a weapon inside a city limits.
