The Real Story about our run in with the OC "gods of fishing" and fishing with BOE.

I hate to admit it publicly, but I tried fishing with BOE again this weekend....twice!! (yep, we are truly poster children for the fishless, 2nd page to SPOOLED in the calendar of NO SPRINGERS 2002!).

He got me up at 2:00AM, we were still in our tugboat pajamas with the little feet attached when we hit the water.

We put in our hours fishing with bad eggs and then decided to move to a new spot. While anchoring all by ourselves this yahoo shows up not realizing we are trying to stay fishless and really don't want to break our streak. He proceeds to give us unsolicited advice on how we should be anchoring. Then his advised turned to tackle and fishing practices and how his grandma has always done it. :hoboy: But once he realized Roy , with his back turned at the time, wasn't a 9 year old boy, his language got real bad. graemlins/icon_argue.gif see roy's thread on OC Riff Raff.

I kept saying, please my little kid here doesn't need to hear that sort of language but the cracker from OC could tell Roy was past puberty and kept it up. graemlins/icon_argue.gif I then proceeded to put on some chapstick and had a lip wrestling tournament; actually the highlight of the day.

As for Sunday, SPOILED's ears should have been burning. It wasn't a good day to see your boat's reflection in the water because of being overcast  , so I assume Troy stayed home. We didn't need him to stay fishless Sunday, we had that part covered.

Roy was showing me how we were going to launch the DB at Carver, so we practiced with a pre-launch on the ramp (anybody get this on camera??) graemlins/stupid.gif The bad part, besides getting laughed at by the sleds in the area, was that we broke the plug, go figure. BOE jury rigged (I won't use Roy Engineering lingo here) a Duck's beak and rubber glove to plug the hole and we were off without any leaks. I think BOE committed at least one felony on that duck and it wasn't how he harvested it either. (see other BOE threads about ducks.)

From there it was kind of anti-climactic. Once in the water we just kept our poles in the boat so as not to have to tie any more knots than necessary, or catch a fish for that matter. He let me run the sticks on his DB "Salvaged" and I worked at being an obsticle for the sleds, now that is fun!

I am glad you had a good time

And truth be known you were the one launching the boat and did the prelaunch in the parking lot. I was JAFO. graemlins/stupid.gif You were on the sticks when we hit that rock graemlins/stupid.gif and you are the one that polished up the sidewall of the trailer tire when you clipped that curb graemlins/stupid.gif That poor little willow that was struggling to survive on the bank, looked good with your christmas ornament you left dangling on it. graemlins/stupid.gif Now that I think about it, you are quite the comic to fish with.

Let me know when you want to go catching, we have been fishing a couple times.
