Seriously. Anyone know who that guide is that is working the Multnomah Channel stretch from Coon Island to the Gilbert Ramp?
He's a younger guy, wears blue rubber gloves the whole time, Alumaweld sled. I've seen him every day the past week out there, and he's just really cleaning house on the springers. This Sunday was not red hot, in fact it was rather slow - yet I saw him with a TRIPLE; three spingers at once!!! And several more after that. His clients looked tired out from all the pullin' on salmon they were doing.
Anyone know who this is?

Fishing-is-Life, best I can tell he's using what most of us are - plug-cut herring.
But there's something about his technique that is setting him apart from everyone else. He definitely has it down. But who is 'he'??

Go up to him and ask him for his business card. I guarantee he won't mind handing you one.

I was going to do that Silver Hilton, but the dude is usually too busy catching fish or landing 'em for his clients to be interupted. Let's move this up and see if someone has the answer.

It might be Talons. He posts here. He has a open alumaweld. Come on Talons don't be shy. I've talked to you out there now and then. Used to have a brown smokercraft last year right? The guy gets fish.

I wonder if wearing the gloves is part of his secret?
I think wearing gloves plays a big role is catching fish! When handling bait, I always have them on!

Well guys I guess the secret is out... Yes that has been me out there putting a few fish in the box here and there. Sunday was great with that tripple that we landed. I have been pretty busy so I do not get to check the Ifish board as much as I would like too. Please do not be shy out there come up and say hi. I am not really that busy catcing fish all the time.

Wow!
Joe, I can say I have NEVER heard of a triple on springers in the channel. If that isn't a testament to your prowess nothing is!
Maybe I need to trade my gloves in for some blue ones...

Hey guys the trick is not the golves, however every thing that you can do to increase your odds will help with the end result. But I use a non powered non scentec non latex glove, they suck to put on unless you hand is completly dry. The cool thing about the gloves is that you do not have smelly hands at the end of the day.
As far as a triple on Springers I can honestly say that was a first for me. I could handle it all the time if the fish gods and moon would line up more often and let me do it again.
As far as my method I can honestly say that it is not that difficult, I have found a system that seems to work for me and I stick with it because I know that with time it will produce. I am very willing to teach anyone that is interested, just let me know.
Good luck
Joe
I use the lime green non powered medium weight gloves. They are about $25 a box of 250.. check online or at any medical supply outfit!
You will be surpised with how warm your hands stay even in the winter!

I use the powdered latex gloves, $6.99/100 in a dispencer box from Harbor Frieght. I like the powdered ones because they go on so easy. After I put them on I wash real quick with a no-scent soap I keep in my boat. I truely believe it makes a difference and my wife will sleep with me at night after my fishing day..........no smell.
