I grew up in Newberg and I hate to admit it but I haven't fished much around there. My grandfather is hearing that they are doing fairly well out there and wants to go try it. I have no clue even which direction to go from the ramp  . Can someone help me out with some general spots? And is it worth trying right now? Any reports? graemlins/1zhelp.gif Thanks a bunch

You really need to head upstream from Newberg. Mostly frogwater until you get to the mouth of the Yamhill. Yes, the fish have to go through there, but they don't seem to hold in that area.

Rimshot...above ash island (upstream from rogers landing) all the way to Wheatland Ferry. My uncle has caught a couple plunking from from San Salvador (upstream of Yamhill mouth on St Paul side).

Don't forget you can also hook fish in the deeper slower water in that area trolling prawns.
