Anybody been fishing Sellwood area this week? Going to take the boy out tonight
after work not sure if I should hit the M. channel or Sellwood. Would like to see my
son hook his first springer  With his baseball tournaments I cant take him out but
once a week on Wednesday afternoons.
Ok so I checked the weekly fishing report, here's the percentages of boats (checked at
the ramps) with fish:
Oregon City= 69% (72 boats)
Sellwood= 57% (68 boats)
M. Channel= 59% (141 boats)
O.C. bankers= 6.8% (88 bank poles)

Tundra,
I missed out on fishing the channel over the weekend, but I hear it was HOT! A friend of mine caught two 24 lb. twins. I got out for a couple of hours last night and caught an 11 lber. Hint:
fish the sauvie island side of the channel between Fred's and the Sauvie bridge ( prawns)

Thanks Fishing Freak, M.C. is the easiest for me to get to so I will take my son there tonight. I'll let you know how we did
Looks like the boats have been spanking the bankies lately!

Hey Tundra:
Fished all day yesterday with guide Trevor Storlie (Red's Guide Service)in the downtown, Sellwood and trestle areas. It was very slow yesterday. We boated 2 hatchery fish, 14 & 18 lbers. Only saw 3 others caught and at 4PM the ODFW fish checker had only logged in 2 other fish at the Willamette Park ramp.
Great warm day, lots of fun and our 2 fish seemed darned good relative to everyone else. Caught them both on cut plug herring.
Good luck! Hawg

Hey Andrew, havent been able to get out much with Kyles baseball. I took him out of school early last wednesday and hit the Sellwood area. Saw a few fish caught on the tide turn around 6:30 or so. I hooked one, got to fight it for a few minutes, Kyle holding the net in anticipation, as an older gentleman in an Arima runs his boat over the top of my fish had to straight line the fish to keep my line from rubbing on this guys bow. I was yelling to get his attention but it was too late. Fish made a run out from under his boat as I was bringing my pole tip back up from the water and "pop" , no more fishy.
Oh well, it happens but it was still a beautiful day with nice warm breezes. I didnt want to go home :depressed:

Fished the M. Channel last night. Dead city, man. Probably a dozen or so boats out there and didnt see anything caught. Hardly marked any fish, nothing rolling. Very quiet evening. Fished from mouth to Sauvie's Island bridge. Left the water at 8:00 p.m.
