What are the sizes and colors of jigs to use on the Clack? Not having any luck throwing corkies so I will try to learn the jig thing. Anyone got a crash course on jig fishing? Thanks

Corky,
Jim Bradberry wrote a pocket sized paperback book on jig fishing for summer steelhead. The vast majority of information he gives was derived from experiences on the Clackamas. I'm sure you would find his book, published by Frank Amato, very useful.I expect it's still in print and may be sold at Fishermans or Joe's.

If you look in the Bradbury book you will see a picture of our very own "Gizmo Man". You might not recognize him (I didnt) since he has a few more hairs, a few less wrinkles and no walker
Is that really you Giz? I am not totally convinced.

A few popular color combinations are pink/purple,cerise/black and pink/white. Whether you use 1/8th-oz or 1/4th-oz jigs is a personal preference. When the water is up and moving I like using 1/4th-oz jigs because they get down quickly and stay under the float. Try and fish the jigs a couple feet off of the bottom in most cases.
