I attended the first ODFW public meeting concerning thier budget crunch last night in Central Point (near Medford).
At one point Director Ball was explaining the need for the public to stay in touch with their elected officials concerning ODFW matters in a timely fashion so that specific concerns can be heard.
One person asked if the departement would notify the public when issues of importance were to be addressed in Salem. Mr. Ball stated they would try to be better at communicating yet had a couple of reasons they can not be 100%.
At that time someone in the crowd said that Ifish does a pretty good job of staying on top of matters and urged people to use this source.
Dirctor Ball agreed that Ifish "does a good job" and went on to commend Jennie and the work she puts into this.
I thought the "atta girl" should be shared.
Thanks Jen, for doing what you can do!
BTW, the general concencous is that the crowd (it was standing room only) wanted to maintain services and that raising license fees was the way to do it.
