Snuck to Portland early to attend meeting at ODFW office and got to fish the Columbia on Friday with a couple of co-worker friends.
My first time actually on this awesome river and what a treat!
We put in at The Fishery and fished below Bonn. Dam about a half mile.
We brought 6 fish to the boat with 3 being hatchery keepers.
Saw David Johnson in action as he hooked a couple right beside us.
The best part was that my boss was fishing with Buzz and hadn't put a fish in the boat when we left around 2:30...... bummer dude.
What a great day and an awesome river!
Dog,
 Does this mean we're going to have to call you Mike now?
Good to hear that you were able to get out.

The fish ranged from 14 to 18lbs guessing. No hogs but sure nice fish!
The meeting was good. Other than the normal updates and such we continued trying to hammer out a mechanism to insure our screens are kept in good repair and to pay for replacement of screens that are destroyed by natural events such as floods or trees, etc.
We have a committee working on this and they will be meeting with the assistant Attorney General to get some clarification on how we might make funding available for upkeep and repair.
As it is now, we are headed for a train wreck in that many of the screens that were installed in the last 50 years are needing attention and we can forsee a day when most of our limited funds could go to maintenance of existing screens rather than installation of new screens. That is not where we want to be.
Also heard a report on the newly formed fish passage task force. Seems they are having some issues with organization and direction at this time.
Next meeting is Aug. 24 in Bend.

One more thing from Saturday's meeting... we learned there is another Klamath like water fight brewing in the Grand Rhonde basin.
Sounds like it could be a nasty battle coming up. :hoboy:
