Fished Bonneville last every with great success, I am not really hearing much this year. Is the water just too high or is this another zipperlip issue just waiting to be exploited. Would like an honest report. Also the best way it's been fished this year, i.e backtrolling, backbouncing or @ anchor. Plan on going there friday just want to know if staying in the lower river is more sucessful. I've been fishing St. Helens area with success, just not the 10 to 15 fish days i was having a Bonneville....Thanks

I fished Tuesday and got spanked. I was anchored about a half mile below the dead line. There was alot of fish netted 95% by backbounceing with EGGS. The kickfish wasn't the bait they wanted this day. Good Luck

fishnxtc I've stayed away from the Bonniville area, but I fished the Longview area last Friday and had two hits. One to the boat (NATIVE) :depressed: but it was still fun. The other one just pulled the rod down one time and that was it??? We had K15 pearl and green wrapped with sardines. What's been working for you in the lower Columbia graemlins/program.gif

We fished Bonneville on Monday. Six fish to the boat, four natives released, two hatchery fish kept, another four or so take downs. Some on blades/prawns, some on kwickfish.

With the high flows, Thurs >200CFS, it's tough. This year as soon as they start dumping water the whole river will change. Today, thurs when they started dumping water about mid morning it blew almose everybody off their anchor. So if you insist on trying this fishery in the high flows, HAVE A GOOD ANCHOR. this can be dangerous folks, don't need a doughball floating down on someone. Besides, anything over about 180,00 CFS and the kwikfish are not effective, read spinner. If we are lucky we might have a week or two left, but if the are dumping water from here on out, the Willamette will get crowded.
