I was wondering what is the best time to get to Chinook Landing to launch. I know the part opens up only after a certain time, is there a line that forms to get into the park this time of year?
Also, where does one by a year permit for that launch?

I have never encountered a line except in the summer when all the pleasure boats are wanting to launch. I buy my yearly pass at Blue Lake park Office or if you can catch an attendant there they will sell you one. Tim

you can buy a pass at blue lake park for like $35.oo a year .just drive right in dont pay and go back to the club house in the back on the right.the pass is the only way to go.there is plenty of room at the ramp it goes quick.tell about noon when the beech bums get there with the skis there a bunch of dummies. then it take a while.they all come of the water 20 min. befor dark and its a real mess so get off 40 min. early or stay out 20min. after dark, good luck...

The gates never close. If you are there to launch you won't be bothered by sheriffs patrol.

The park is always open if I am not mistaken. I have never had any troubles launching there. You can purchase a yearly pass from an attendant in the booth ($35.00). If no one is there get a ticket ($4.00). You can also purchase a pass at blue lake park which is just up the road or at oxbow park on the Sandy river.

Good Luck to you!
