Gonna take a "sick" day and do some plunking from Sauvie's Island. Any help on the following questions greatly appreciated:

1. Where to go and how to get there?

2. Where do I get the parking permit I've heard about?

3. Any other tips?

Thanks much, will report results.

Make sure you're there for the outgoing tide.

The ODFW beaches that you hear about are roughly 11.5 miles from the bridge on Reeder Rd.

Permits should be available at all *** /ODFW vendors. The store just over the bridge on the left has them. At the beaches, your vehicle will be checked for a permit so have one.

And don't leave any garbage behind.

Search the archives for more S.I. posts and info.

Good luck!

Thanks garyk,

High tide is somewhere around 9:30, so don't even have to get up early. I always carry a garbage sack on my trips, picking up stuff and hoping the practice rubs off. I fish the Sandy mostly, and you know how it can get there :-(

This will be my first attempt at plunking for Springers. Also my first attempt at Columbia mainstem Springers. Can't wait to kick back on a warm and sunny Thursday.

Cheers,

Nipper
