My Alumaweld Sea Dory came with an Eagle Z-9000 fishfinder mounted on the center console. It is starting to have problems with interior moisture and the location is not easy to see when trolling with the kicker.

I recently picked up a Lowrance X75 that I want to add. Problem is I only have one mounting point for the transducers. There is enough room for two transducers on the transom with a speed/temperature gauge between the two.

Will I have to turn one off in order to get the other to work properly? I would like to be able to run them simultaneously at least occasionally for camparison.

If they run on the same frequency you will have problems if they are on at the same time. As for mounting, you may want to go to TAP plastics and get a piece of 3/4" or 1" white plastic about 6x8 or so, mount that to your trandson then you can mount transducers, temp sensors, speed sensors, to the plastic all day long with out having to put more holes through the hull. Makes it nice for experimentation.

Good idea on the temporary mounting plate. You could run both if you manually select the frequencies. Use the old box for a depth sounder using 50khz and the new on at 192khz to get details or zoom in on a certain depth.
