Is there any positive reports coming out of the Wind River area. A little too early maybe for some upcoming weekend fishing? FNF?

Funny you should ask. I was just about to give Steve, "Fear No Fish" a call on his cell to see how he's doing this morning. He's spending several weeks at Skamania Coves. I spoke with him Easter weekend, and the Wind was bleak, one fish for the week (sorry about the rhyme!).
Yesterday's Bonneville Chinook count was over 800, the first day of promising numbers.
I'll let you know if I get a hold of him.
I'm hoping to get there next week!

Yeah, I heard he had a little incident with his boat yesterday out in some rough water. Sitting today out. Hear anything about that?
800 through Bonneville is looking promising. I guess we are cancelling our trip, but I bet it gets good for the weekend.

Steve returned my call a few hours ago.
He'd launched from the Columbia side (Sevenson, maybe?) and when he headed back, he found a strong east wind and four foot waves. He had to beach his boat (blown sideways), then position his trailer, then struggle to push the boat against the waves, with water breaking over the transom.
Yes, he's alone throughout all of this.
He starts the boat, and manages to get onto the trailer. During his attempt to attach the boat his hand get pinned between the boat and trailer. A big wave finally frees his hand and he gets hooked up and out of the water with an injured, but not broken hand.
Sounds like windsurfing would have been the sport of the day.
Let me know how it goes for you if you do make it to the Wind River.
