When baiting up do you use gloves or not? Do you rub a sacrificial herring or sardine on your hands? Do you spread scent on your hands first? Or keep a bucket of lemon fresh joy near by to wash the scent away?
Personally I wear gloves for almost all fishing. I find it does 2 things. 1) Keeps my hands warmer. 2) Keeps the human scent off my lures and/or bait; it also helps when your girlfriend works in a hospital.

The latex gloves do work good. I brought a pair when fishing the columbia gorge this winter. These were the heavy dishwashing ones and let me tell you they saved my bacon    . The real good thing is you can wash you hands and never get wet or cold. If you get them a little larger then they come off easier  .

I wear gloves when ever I'm fishing, helps out with the stink, human scent and from my hands drying out and cracking from the perservatives/chemicals in some baits. I also will smear a little of Marie's shrimp scent on my gloves before I handle my rigs. I probably go through about a dozen pairs of gloves per trip. I get them pretty cheap at Harbor Frieght, $6 for a thousand.

I've tried the latex gloves, but I think I had a cheapo box. The things didn't hold up at all. There has to be a better latex glove that holds up under a little use. Any surgeons out there?
