Just wanted to let you all know that if you just HAVE to get the taste of a 2002 Spring Chinook, head on down to your local Zupan's Market and pick some up for a paltry sum of $18.00 A POUND!!

If you think about it...that equates to about $1.00 Per Bite

The gill netters are being paid $5 per pound, someones making a good markup.

Oh yeah, and isn't this the argument I keep hearing that the common folk who don't fish should have equal access to the resource? How many common folk can afford $18 a pound for salmon? :depressed: :depressed:

I would NEVER pay that much for ANY FISH, let alone one I can go yank out of the river - (well, maybe ... one of these years...)

 It's only worth what some maroon will pay for it.

 Besides you have no idea where it's been.

I saw a picture of ****** at the fish market somewhere. Hummmmm...... Sorry Rick. But, did they really cost $18 a pound. Snapshot was wondering about that.

I did't know Zupans had gourmet cooks dishing up Salmon at their stores. I agree with all of you and Capt.Hook hit the nail right on the head. If the retail needs to be that high the commercial guys should get more money per pound.
I hope the commercial boats get their catch and then we can get after the Springers with better results then I've been having.

Everything at Zupan's costs about 10% more than anywhere -- just so you can feel "elite" - - I only go in because it's a "TrueValue" hardware - the hardware is priced more or less normally.

I think I pay well over a $100.00 a pound for my fish after adding in all my expences. Boat! Tackle, etc. time off work wow! Oh one last thing it's worth every penny!!
