rod blanks

Just curious on opinions of what the best steelhead ro blank is considering that the GLoomis IMX blanks are no longer available. Was planning on building up a 1082, but just discovered that it is only available in the GL2 model.

Maybe just the model you're looking at isn't available.

Dave, they only offer 8 models in Steelhead rod blanks anymore and 6 are GL2 and 2 are Gl3. They only have 20 total in all of the types of rods we use for Salmon and Steelhead (Hot Shot-8 models, Back Bounce 2 models, Salmon 2 models and the 8 Steelhead blanks) Only one of those 20 is made in IMX and none in GLX. The Majority are the new GL2 which is a silver color that is Butt Ugly in my opinion. This is only in blanks, they have a wide variety in built rods.

Sorry, I was thinking in the lines of rods. Blanks must be a different story.

I am looking at the G.Loomis 2002 blank catalog right now and it looks like to me they are still selling the IMX blank. But if you dont want a loomis a St.Croix is a very close second in my book. That is just what I think.
