Went back to Texass Point on Saturday to try again for another steelhead. 2 hooked (one BIG one), none landed....the BIG one got the hook out, the second one broke the leader.
If nothing else though, at least I have found a good "sure thing" hole for a beginner to practice on the feeling the bite and hooking up. Is it just me, or do you not really feel the bite, but rather feel a snag, then lift the rod tip and feel the fish starting to run??? If I am supposed to feel more than that, it aint happening.
If any of you were on the Trask and saw a guy fishing with his Golden Retriever, that was me.
