Anybody here know anything about mushrooms? I was wondering when we should be seeing some morals in the hills?

My advice: Don't do to many at once and always have someone that isn't doing them (and you trust i.e. will to toy with you). Never buy them unless you know for sure the species and method used to preserve (dry) them. Most importantly don't any that were harvested from cow pastures. You could get heart worm.
. . . Oh, the other kind of mushrooms. They usually don't come in much until late march and into april. Look for cotton woods because they are usually near by and if you go to a place that they should be but their not there try again in 2 or 3 days. It can make a big difference.

Morels in May.
Thats a simple saying that is quite true.
You may find some "dislocated" black morels in fresh bark dust on a warm spring day here on the west side. But wait till May and hit the Eatern slopes of Cascades(Suttle Lake-Metolius area, west of Rock Creek resivoir area.
Want to know more email me and/or come to the Oregon Mycological Society meeting tonight at 630(education classes) or 730(meeting) at Cheatam Hall World Forestry Center(up by the zoo).
this time of year is a bit early for even verpas, which some consider edible.

I thought that Verpas (which look a lot like Morels) contained Hydrazine (which acts a lot like rocket fuel), and some folks have developed toxic reactions. It probably would be better if everyone just forgot about those Morels which are hard to see in the leaf duff under the Cottonwood trees around Social Security Beach at about the same time that plunking for springers is going good on Sauvie Island.
