With any luck we will have normal temps. and normal precip. this Spring. This would keep the flow up, and the water temp down, hopefully in the low to mid 50's. All this would keep the river moss to a low level. With lower flows and higher temps. the moss grows rapidly. Hope for rain, a liitle at a time, and normal temps. The snow pack will come down gradually and make for a great Springer Season for us all!!!

Moss should not be a problem at all this year. With the water reaching 20+ feet on the Salem gage twice this year, the bottom has turned over and that will abate the moss. The cooler water helps some too. We have a good snow pack and if we get a fair amount of rain though May, you can catch fish into July. Yes, I said July!
Spinners are being polished and tuned. Leader is being tied. They are coming...........Better catch up on the one thing that will be lacking in the coming months.....

Will we see the dreaded moss on the Willamette again this year? What are the factors anyway, cooler water temperatures from good snowpack... good winter high-water flushing?? I'll go nuts if I have to resort to floatfishing again......
