How about the best roll for a cut plug & a whole herring in the Willamette or Columbia in the Portland area. Do you use 2 or 3 hooks and how about fixed or slider

I like to use RED label herring, if you can find them with the current "shortage" going on, coupled with a two hook rig, with the top one being a slider.
Last year I started experimenting with a "two treble-hook" mooching rig. I can still get the killer roll roll with the two trebles, and I have to laugh...the bait resembles a Porcupine!!
