My quest for a steelhead continues tomorrow. Not sure where would be a good spot though. Was thinking about either the Wilson, Trask, or Sandy.

Any thoughts? Any suggestions?? I am boatless, so I am stuck bank fishing, and my fishing buddy cant make it tomorrow, so I am on my own to try to figure out places to hit the water that might hold steelheads. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Where are the good spots for bankies like me??????

Tex -Heres where I went today and can say not to go tomorrow: Cedar Creek area of the sandy I had a nice walk though. Water was super clear (come on Rain!) I think the Trask above the dam hole would be worth the drive. Just trying to help:)

Just an FYI,
I wasn't able to fish until after 4:00 this afternoon, at Oxbow on the Sandy. In an hour and a half I landed three fish(actually I hooked three and handed all three off to a couple other guys fishing). The first two were hatchery bucks, turning colored and spitting milt upon landing. The third was a bright hen. After landing she began spitting singled eggs. Bright fish but eggs had loosened up. The angler who I handed off to, kept the fish. Upon opening her he found her full of eggs but eggs were singling out. That's what you will probably find on the Sandy. A lot of downstream or spawning hatchery fish. I also saw one small native caught and released while I was fishing this evening. I heard of a few other fish caught during the day too.

Drifted Dabney to L&C the last half of today and whaddayaknow........A 33inch summer steelie (no max clip) liked our hooks. Chrome bright hen. Fun fighter. Coulda sworn it was a nate until I put my shades on and saw it was clipped. I heard a few summers had shown up lately. Pretty cool considering I just bought my first driftboat and was out for the first time just getting the hang of things!
