Hi All,
I'm taking my son, Zack graemlins/hearton.gif , fishing in the morning and am debating upon taking him out in our "back yard" (locally at Big Creek) or trying somewhere else. I showed him how to use one of my spinning rods a few weeks ago and he was a natural... so I just bought him his own, plus his own tackle box full of corkies, yarn, spin and glows... you know... "toys" (the gent behind me at Sportco up in Fife thought I was the coolest Mom on the planet!) Anyhooo... Zack is 9 and has Asperger's Syndrome (in the spectrum of Autism). He is SO good with "hands on" stuff and enjoyed fishing for "Big Silver Fish" (Steelhead) last time we went, even though we got skunked... I am in the Coast Guard and am stationed on the Ice Breaker HEALY in Seattle. We're leaving for another 6 month trip into the Arctic at the end of April and I don't get to spend NEARLY enough time with Zack as it is and I'm thrilled that he's showing an interest in fishing. I sure would love to take him someplace where he might actually hook into something, you know? I read Ifish every day, and, even though I lurk and haven't posted in a long time, I really enjoy this list. So, does anyone have any hints for tomorrow and/or Monday morning? graemlins/1zhelp.gif Unfortunately I have to head back to Seattle Monday afternoon (and won't get to come home again for 3 weeks. :depressed: Sorry to ramble... I'm just really looking forward to taking Zack out again tomorrow. Thanks for any advice you might have! Love, Elsa & Zack
