O.K....I'll confess. I was out there in the Milwaukie area Wednesday from about 1-5. Saw one other boat working Knight's pretty well...we covered water.

I just about freaked on my way home from work today seeing all the boats just above the 205 bridge in O.C. I'll bet there was at least 30 boats out there. Looked like April!! Since I'm only about 5 minutes from there, I might find myself on the water again this afternoon...pretty nice out.

Tried bass fishing today (sorry) and talked to one guy and he saw two native springers released up from Cedar Oaks.

I confess. I was out there today working the Oregon City water for Springers. Saw one native released above the 205 bridge and heard there was 6 caught yesterday. Nothing for my boat yet but I had my Ifish hat on and was ready with the camera to win that new fishing pole. Gotta go after nates next week.

Not to be sarcastic, but I've seen a lot of "I heard of, I saw, I was told, etc...". Yeah, there may be a FEW fish in the river now like there normally is, but it won't be good anywhere in the Portland area for another month at least. If I was seriously looking for a springer now I'd be looking for it in the channel or lower.

What I'd really like to see is some folks who fish the coastal streams post when those fish are coming in later in the season. We all know when the Portland fish come in every year, how about those costal reports when it happens?

You remember that saying on the Willamette. "You have to put in your time!"? Well that's what we did today and what we will be doing tomorrow, putting in our time.

I figure if I put in my time now, I will be all done putting time in, by the time the run really gets here. "Did that make sense?"

Ok guys, fess up. I work on the willamette, and have been seeing about a dozen boats a day trolling. With this nice weather, I'm tempted myself.

I keep telling myself to wait until the last week of Feb. to start so I don't get burned out too early. But man, this is tempting.

No, can't do it yet. Got to beat up on some nate steelies this weekend. But, I've got all my springer gear ready, no gotta wait.

So, who's given in to the temptation, and been springer fishing?

Rags...I think I passed you Wednesday on your way to the river. I was in a Mother's Cookie truck and passed you on the stretch of 205 between Tualatin and the Tualitin River. Nothin Wednesday either??

Rick, Jan and I will be on the channel today for a spell of fresh air, and who knows?? Will post whatr we see later today or tomorrow.

I'm sure, I, Marie, Marty, etc... will let you know when the coastals start to hit.
It's usually much later in the season.
But who knows?

FishinMission,
I do remember a Mothers Cookie truck passing us. I had my two grandsons and my two sons with me for a boat ride and maybe an early Springer. I remember saying to my grandsons, "I couldn't drive that truck because I would eat all the cookies." Beautiful day on the river. I can't wait until those Springers are at Oregon City!!

Rags...about the first two weeks of drivin' and eatin' cure you for life, I think. Hang in there. There are fish to be had . Saw one get boated today in the Scappoose area, clipped and all...about 25 lbs. Sure was pretty.
We'll be out there Monday for sure, maybe Sunday too...but more towards Milwaukie. See ya out there!
