Hi everyone,
I've been reading the great discussions on the message board and wanted to become a member of the community. I live in Longview, WA and have been fishing these parts for 12 years. Most of my fishing has concentrated on the tributaries of the Columbia and Cowlitz rivers. I just recently bought a boat (well, the bank owns most of it) and am now in pursuit of learning the Columbia - especially for springers. I went to the boat show and talked to a Luhr Jensen rep. and his recommendations were to fish closer to shore due to the higher water (he said to think like a smelt), use a larger profile kwikfish (upgrade to a larger size), and use colors that are more visible (pearl white or black with chart. hot tail). I'm going to give it a try and I'll let you know how I do. Thanks to all for this great site.
