Private Messages

I just wanted to let people know that I answer e mail a lot faster than I do private messages.
Do you like private message feature?
The only reason I can see for having it, is the people that don't allow their e mail to be shown.
Any other reasons I am missing?

I just checked mine for the first time in a year. E-mail seems to work pretty well.

I agree with you Jen, Useful for those who don't want email listed(which I think is important to some). Sort of a pain for others. I'd rather get email messages.

I just checked mine for the first time . . . 'nothing there. I prefer e-mail but I, too, understand some may not want their e-mail address listed.

The problem with them, is that you get a notice by e mail that you have one. And you can read it through your e mail reader.
But people try to just hit respond to respond to it. You can't do that. It auto directs back to me, the program admin, and not the person who sent you the PM. I am always worried that I will read something I shouldn't!
So, if you get a PM, please do not hit reply to respond to it.
You need to go to MY PROFILE to respond to it.
That's why it's such a pain to use.

Either way is fine to me now that I know how to use the PM features. Tell me though, why does the PM default back to you? Is there not a setting that can be changed to make it respond back to the sender ?
