Confirming.... Will bring 100 large SOLV garbage bags, litter pickers, 5 gal buckets. May bring wife and 2 grandkids. What about Pilar and Nuttinbutnet and a couple others who sent in responses earlier. Did anyone contact papers or Clackamas River Watershed Council?

Wow, the day came up quick. OK, I'll be there with a box of proctology gloves, raingear, fishin po and an extra set of hands or two.
Can someone tell me where the Carver Cafe is?

The Carver Cafe is on the N. side of the river, on the East side of Carver. From 205: take 212 and go down it for a few miles. At the light by the Farmer's Market, turn right onto 224 towards Estacada, when you get to Carver don't go over the bridge. Instead follow the road to the left. Carver Cafe is at the end of the straight away on the left. Can't miss it.
I'll be there Mofish, but it might not be till 9. Okay to call you on your cell when you're out there and just meet you guys somewhere? That or give me an area to go to, and I'll work on it. I've already got my gloves, bags, etc. Thanks for setting this up!
Pilar

That explains it. I never get on 224 before Amisegger or Rock creek. Guess that comes from living in Damascus for so long...

Just for you info, the so called farmers market there at the light on 224, has closed down, so just an empty building there now. There should be signs though that say estacada.
Tell me about what this event is. I'm new on here and might be interested. thanks. Mike

Sounds good to me Mofish.
Hey Wiser?, I emailed Todd that my workplace would doante a case of 40 gal trashliners to the cause...do you think we still need them? I'm sure yours will be a lot stronger than mine. Also, I'll bring a couple litter pickers - JL  - and buckets.
Hey Pilar, those gloves are NEW and not recycled from your doctor's office right.

Sorry to say but you're going to have to scratch me and the wife for Sat. Looks like I will be working that day instead. I think I'd rather make a couple hundred bucks, rather than clean up the creek banks. You All Have Fun Though!!!

I'll try to be there early too. Need that breakfast. My favorite meal out. I don't know what time the place opens but hope it's early. Dogfishboy, go ahead and bring your garbage bags too, you never know if they might be needed. We can keep them for the next ifish cleanup if they aren't needed that day. Hope you can make it BigSpinner.
We all have plenty of opportunity to enjoy our natural resources, one way or another. These easy and potentially fun opportunities to give back are really few and far between. I hope others will join this effort.

I'll be there 6:30 or at opening, whichever is earlier. Big, you're welcome to join me. I'm really not that old. Six grown kids and nine grandkids generally say otherwise but I sure don't think old. I'll be wearing a Willie Cap and you may have to sit next to one of the grandkids but I'm sure you'll fit in like big brother.

You guys ROCK - you are super-heroes!
I have an all-day Boy Scout event on Mt. Hood, or I would come out also - I haven't fished Eagle Creek in at least 15 years, it sounds like a nightmare to me.
Keep up the fantastic work, you are AWESOME. Someone should tip off a TV station or two ... hmmmmm ...

FishinFinatic, welcome to fish heaven. You can only get here through regular church attendance, see also 'Church of the bent rod'.
Mofish and others have instigated a cleanup effort on the Clackamas, Eagle Creek this Saturday Feb 2. This is a volunteer effort by a few Ifish members in response to the garbage left by some less concerned fishers, probly snaggers to boot.
Although picking up trash is something alot of us do in the process of stream walking and fishing, it is more fun to have a group effort. Also there is the effect of the group on the inconsiderates who may witness the effort and maybe pocket that *****ie wrapper or used syringe next time.
edit::: for pete's sake t.w.i.n.k.i.e. is a bad word?
Y'ont to?
Meet us at the Carver Cafe on 224 at 0700 on Feb 2. E-mail Mofish or myself for details.
Thanks MoFish for your concern and cleanup instigation.

Ok its called the 'Carver curves cafe'? If so the number is 503 658 3206. They did not answer when I called. Another place to meet is Harmony House a little closer to 205 on Hwy 224 at 135th ave. 503 655 9547, they don't answer the phone either.
One last possibility is Mumpies right at the Carver bridge. I can't find a ph# for that.

Here are a few other options for a meeting site.
Barton Store or Barton Park. It's just a little further down the same road, or the Jackpot/Chevron station at the Hwy. 211 turnoff, also a little further down the same road.
If we meet at Barton Park we could get about 45 minutes (6:45 to 7:30am) of fishing in above the boat ramp....just a thought
Carver boat ramp is another possibility.
Whatever works best for everyone.

I talked to Curt, the owner of the Carver Cafe, tonight. He said he opens at 7:00 but would open early for a group like ours. I told him I would pass this on and get back to him with a time. If anyone else is interested in having breaffast or even just coffee I'll call Curt with some idea of what to expect.

Sorry fellow anglers but I had a trip planned to the coast for some time. I wanted to do both not enough time. Well I am glad Eagle Creek is getting the atention it deserves. I take stuff out every time I am there and it amazes me how much and what they leave. I actually have seen fishing people take stuff out too but then it always come back.
Heard from several sources that the state and local cops close their eyes to the kids partying. Why? I guess the underage need a place to pary til they **** .
Keep up the good work. Wish I could be there.

Back to the top, come help out if you can everyone.
Mofish is the man! Imagine everyone's surprise when Todd stepped up and covered the tab for everyone's breakfast! WOW! He organized a great service event, brought a huge drop box and helped make sure that folks were distributed on the river and that newcomers to Eagle Creek had the opportunity to work/fish along side people that had some knowledge of the stream. Thank you for an outstanding, above-and-beyond performance, Todd!

FYI,
Thanks everyone. I'm sending a copy of the note that I sent to Jennie when I sent pictures.
Jennie,
These 12 pictures were taken during the Eagle Creek Cleanup. About 25 people showed up at he Carver Curves Cafe. Mofish generously picked up the tab for breakfast. This was something no one expected and was greatly appreciated. Mofish brought the big trailer pictured and we did a good job filling it. Tires, a couch, old tent and smaller trash was collected from the creek side. It was great meeting everyone and giving back a little. Several folks stayed to fish and others went over to the Sandy. Better watch Pilar and dogfishboy. They found a couple items embedded in the creek and were talking C4 removal and had their rods along when last seen.
I thought it was great these fishers all got together to do this. Sometimes it's hard to get 20 people together to do almost anything but everyone who committed showed up. Put a little rush on the waitress and cook at the restaurant. I don't think they usually have a group of 25 show up at one time.
Go ahead and post what you feel is appropriate

What a great day! A BIG THANKS to Mofish for organizing a great event and a VERY GENEROUS breakfast surprise. Dude, you ROCK! Enjoyed meeting and working with other Ifishers. A lot of trash removed and some good fishing fun with Pilar and Jennifer. Pilar, if your not careful she will soon be out fishing you  Thanks to both of you for a nice walk in the woods. Pat, a big thanks for the holdzit (http://www.holdzit.com) file saver.
Hey Pete, ya know we should have taken Pilar up on his offer to use C4 to remove that toilet and stove from the hillside  or maybe not

Out there on the river picking up trash instead of dining in a cushy cafe, that's where!
Seriously, I got a later start in the morning from Corvallis than I had wanted. Stopped on to do some fishin and pick up some trash. I was there at Eagle Fern to dump off my load and say hi to some of the guys. Artwo and Mofish can verify. I didn't get nearly as much as you guys did that first hall, but we went back out in the afternoon and filled up the back of my truck w/ some stuff from below Carver.
Glad to hear some of you got some fish. Saturday was a bust for me. I did get one nate this morning though. Thanks again Mofish for setting this up. Sorry I couldn't have helped out more. You guys did great.
