I've spent the last couple of afternoons banking it around town. Sunday I went alone, hooked and landed 7. All on eggs with some type of corky or cheater. Color wasn't an issue, they were just hungry. Started at 2:30, ended at 5:45. The first was on the second cast, and was a lively 8# buck that had an X4 flatfish still in it's jaw!!! I also scored a chrome bright Native about 5 #'s. She looked great swimming back into the hole
With the fishing being pretty good, I convinced my brother to tag along today. On the way there, I filled him in on the lowdown. After getting skunked our first two trips out, he was eager to get into his first steelie. Wasting no time, he hooks and lands two of four in twenty minutes, and hooks a fifth before I finally hook and lose two. He then hooked and lost two more, one of which was over 15 # . He was happy tho. He took home his first fish, and released an equally nice buck. Now he's hooked, and wants the one that got away. Again 2:30- 6:00, all but one on eggs.
There are a lot of fish out there, and plenty still to come. We're still getting very nice Big Creek fish, and the local strain is coming in strong as well. Even a few Nates here and there as well. Please be careful with these fish, and any other fish you may release for others to enjoy
