Thinking about putting a fresh water wash down system on my 23' Trophy. What brand should I use and has anyone done this for their boats? Sure would be nice out in the ocean this summer.

Bernie, I will go look see what I have in my supervee. I am really confused by what I've been hearing about you. I heard you never caught anything big enough to win a prize, little on a trophy. Must have been a hand off from spooled. Someone must have been pulling on my corkie, You have a Trophy? It must be very dirty if you need to wash it while fishing. You should require everyone on board to clean their shoes before coming aboard, not while on board.

Catch and Eat.
I had a 19 ft Trophy off shore model. I did not have a freshwater system but i converted the live well pump into a washer. It pumped sea water but that was not a problem as it was great for washing the blood out of the fish boxes and washing down the deck. Nice thing was all it cost me was a hose and clamp and i all the water was free. You just need to measure the output attachement and then get a lenth of hose and attach it to the pump, the hose curls up into the livewell and all you do is hit the button and instant water, worked really great. Find a soft hose. I think i got one at a marina but i dont remember for sure. Good Luck.

No hand off's from Spooled in the ocean Snapshot. He is more of a land lubber. Plus he thinks that fishing in the ocean takes no skill. Well, it does take skill.... to net all them fish!!!

Thanks for the idea Cagey. I will look into it.

Yes Ray, would you like a list of the boats I own? I have three. Now get out your rubber ducky and go take a bath. Don't forget your zebco mini pocket fisherman.

Thanks guys.

Hey again C&E

A buddy of mine has a 23ft Seaswirl Striper and I helped him install the Blaster wash down pump. It is 12v sure flo pump. It runs at 3.5 gpm and I think up to 45 psi. It works great!

We Spliced into his live well intake hose for the supply of water. For the hose we used one of the coiled air hoses instead of a standard garden hose. You can pick up the air hoses in many lengths and they take up a hole lot less space and are easy to store. Your best bet for the hose is at a local hose & coupling supply house. For the connections we used quick disconnect fittings to make things quick and easy. He purchased a hatch door and we cut out a hole on the side of the boat (It's a good idea to make sure before you cut a hole that you have a double wall and ample space  ).

Hope to see you again soon!

James

Bernie, I have four  but only two at home. Only one that floats and two with power. And a rubber duckie in the tub. The wife took away the zebco when I set the hook on the duckie and missed that strike cleanly. The hook flew across the room and nailed one of her fancy towels that no can use. Had to cut the hook out. Anyway she took away the zebco and left mumbling something about having that hook stuck in something else. I think she's protecting me while exposed

Hey there C&E,
Here's a way to save a little cash...
Just use that Orange juice Bucket that's under the seat in your sled.

oh I guess that wouldn't be considered fresh water

Nothing like a couple goofballs like Uncle Bob and Snapshot to screw up a serious subject  Then there is Mo-or-less-fish with the "ya gotta catch a fish to have a wash down system" plug. Bro, you listen to Spooled to much

I will have you know that I am now into the search for my 4th fish to the boat. Had six on and four to the boat on my rod. Seems like Spooled's prediction is not true this year. Sorry dude  . While I am not doing great it aint bad for a beginner steelheader for winters.

Mofish, do I take it that you have these systems for sale? Shoot me a price Bro.

Hey Bernie...Make sure you get some sort of "fail-safe" switch. I heard of a guide that had his washdown pump mysteriously come on in the night at Tillamook, only to sink his 22 ft. Supervee. Food for thought.

Thanx for the post...I'm thinking of getting one too...

That would be about my luck. Thanks for the advice Mark. Now I just need a big enough fish box for all those fish I catch.

Bernie, I have a shure-flo blaster in my supervee. IT works great, but I never have to use it. I could let you use my rubber duckie to see when you have to much water in the boat. Or you could add a floatation activated bilge pump that would eliminate flooding.
Did you say Mofish, I say there sonny " did you say mofish or MOOOOfish, or lessfish or letsfish or just plain old Mofish? His one fish was mo than my no fish on 3.5 :depressed:
