Friday was one of those days. You go fishing hoping to do well even catch a limit. It took me all day but I did, but say that only to give you a datum , a reference, with which you can picture what I had the pleasure to witness.High up on the Creek I encounter Josh, a good fisherman, I knew this because on his way out last week he displayed two nice fish and said he had hooked 9or 10.Our encounter began around 9 o'clock by 10 he invited me to fish his hole with him.Though he had uncomingly great success, he continually nailed fish. He left for 45minutes and returned with a friend, and then aided his friend in hooking up.About 1'oclock Josh and his friend left with limits, Josh left me a bunch of his finely cured steely eggs(thanks Josh!).
So what's this "zone " stuff ?? Well, Josh was in it, in the zone! He had landed 13 fish and hooked 33!!!!!! What a pleasure to watch and to share in the experience and in some of his know how.Sometimes those daily high catch rates have me raising the proverbial sceptical eyebrow. But having witnessed a large portion of his day, I am more apt to believe.
What a day, Josh was still taking it in when he left.It is the biggest fish catching day he's had and at one point, discribed it as kind of surreal.
Josh, I hope You can sleep tonight and when you wake up in the morning realize that it wasn't a dream. Just a dream come true.

Yep. it's true. That guy actually landed 19, by himself, not including handoffs. He said it was the most unreal fishing day he has ever experienced, for steelies of course. How do I know this? He's been my fishing buddy/ mentor/ student for over 10 years now. Wish I could have been there for him. He was still taking it all in last night, and still now, as he's waiting for me to get to the river. Bye. SHoulda signed up for F3.5. GOOD LUCK !!!

Not including handoffs? Whoa! He was hot... I had heard 13 from some others, had lost count myself.
You just can't appreciate what this guy was doing unless you were there it simply was incredible - kinda like watch "the best of" of some favorite outdoor show.Except you weren't watching some editted program with faces only as familar as the guy in the next ad.You were living it, sharing in the joy, seeing in real life peeper vision the glory of the site, and the beauty of those fish.No there is nothing like the real deal.
Chris, I hope you and Josh, have a great day today, and I look forward to meeting you both on the stream some day.
Fill us in on todays activities....
Jim
