I was wondering if anyone knew where to buy fresh smelt in the Rainier area. I am going to try for a sturg. tomorrow and I don't think I can dip any right now (I messed up my knee last weekend steelheading). Help would be appreciated.

Last weekend, I got nice smelt at the Red Apple in St. Helens. I realize that is a run for you but if push comes to shove, you might want to give them a call.

Not sure selling sport caught fish is legal. Even bait requires a bait dealers license. Maybe if you gave him the fish and then he paid you for washing off the rear view mirror

Cool!!
Thanks Guys, I will try the Red Apple first (don't want to get Paul in trouble), hell if that don't work, I'll buy one of those more expensive bags.

If you wait a few weeks you can get fresh from the river for FREE! Just cross the river and head up to the Cowlitz and you will be able to dip for Smelt.
