I would like to thank Rapid Robert for the info on Sturgeon fishing in the Bonneville pool. It was a great day! I was with 2 friends I hardly ever get to go fishing with anymore(our days off are opposite of each other now) and we couldn't have asked for a nicer day on the water. There wasn't a breath of wind ALL day...seriuosly! Glass smooth ALL day! Anyway, here is the report: We caught one 63", a couple 40-41, and a bunch of shakers. No keepers but we found a great new spot to fish. We were all smiles. Thanks again for the info Rapid. By the way, we were fishing on the edge of what appeared to be a large bar just down from the mouth of the Klickitat, maybe a quarter mile or less. There was a lot of brown, silty water(from the klick?). We were fishing on the current edge where it met the green water in about 45-50'. From your post this seemed right. Was I there? Either way, I really liked the area and will be back to do some exploring. Take care.

Rimshot glad to hear you had a great day and no wind, bonus.Sounds like you guys were in the right area.Depending on now high the water is running ,you can anchor right of the #55 marker and down stream from there. Were you the only boat around? what bait?Glad I could help....

Rapid, Yes we were the only boat there all day. We did see one other boat on the way in just outside the cove where the launch is. Not sure what they were fishing for. They were anchored in about 20'. As for bait, we were trying a bit of everything. I caught the 63" in the first five minutes we were there on pickled squid(sturgeon candy). One of my friends was using a sand shrimp/nightcrawler cocktail. He caught the most. My other friend was using frozen smelt. He caught the 40-41's. The bites were pretty evenly spread so we all just stuck with different baits. Again, fun day. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. By the way, we were right by the 55 marker. Maybe 75 yards down from it. Guess I was in the right spot
