The new hot n tot don't work. They made it for the bass fishermen when you put in the river it spins.

Spinnermaker,
Look into using Jet Divers, you can get them in a few different sizes and colors and they work real well for me. I use them exclusively for spring chinook fishing instead of the hot-n-tots. I run mine as a slider setup on about a 6 inch drop. My favorite color is the clear ones but have had some pretty good sucess with the red and green ones as well.

Used Jetdivers on the Santiam last year...worked well. either the 10ft or 20 ft. Had best luck with the 20fters

Yes, Jet divers in various sizes can work, and years ago used a "mudbug". Its a large bass type plug with a large thin metal bill on it, similar in design to the hot n tot. I think Fred Arbogast Co made it. Haven't looked in a long time, but I think they're still made. "Storm" is sure gonna loose some business in the NW huh?

I found 4 of the mag hot and tots at a small store in washington. I bought 2 of them but they are bright orange. Will these still work? Should I paint them?

I was able to get 3 dozen before the wholesaler sold out of them. In about 2 years maybe I will be able to get about 15 or 20 bucks each.
(just kidding) I am not ever going to let these get away.

If you check with Gary @ Great American Tackle in Clackamas, he can still order some from All-Sports, if they aren;t sold-out yet. I ordered a dozen and will get them Friday. The only color left is Metallic Red w/ Black Back. He gets them at a good cost, and only marks up for his handling of order. Check with Gary on price & if still available. I'm taking mine to Bill Williamson and having them all painted Black!!

You might also look on E-Bay, there are some of Wiggle Warts, and Hot n Tots, at a pretty high price. But they are available!!

I use jet divers for salmon but i like hot n tots for steelhead. The action is what i like i've used jet divers for steelhead along with hot n tots and the hot n tot out fished the jet diver. FOR SALMON ITS THE OTHER WAY AROUND.Do mud bugs work like a hot n tot .

there is still some standard tots down at FMO and GI joes in albany. I've still yet to see anything in writing saying that aren't making them anymore other than word of mouth. I've been hearing this for over a year yet still find them everywhere. Maybe a rumour leaked out by storm as some kind of sales or exposure propaganda? If it was it worked...

I looked for a few today, I was out at the eastport Joes this morning. None there, they do have quite a few of the old wiggle warts though and also a bunch of mag warts if anybody needs some plugs.

Went to Fishermans at Delta Park this afternoon. They have some hot-n-tots left. Not a huge selection but there are still some. So if you need some of the old style, nows the time to get em'. I bought about three dozen plugs today between the old style warts and the hot-n-tots. Time to go fishing now

I bought some Hot n Tots on E-Bay yesterday, I asked if the seller if he had more at same price. He told me he could get more and wanted to know how many and what colors. If anyone is interested, send me an e-mail on what you are looking for. With S&H included the cost will be about $6 per plug. If you can get any here locally the price is nearly the same.

PS I will forward your info to the seller and see
if he has what you need.

If anyone was going to go over to see Gary @ Great American Tackle to order Hot n Tots, I thought I would save you a trip. All-Sports has completely sold-out of their remaining stock of the old style Hot n Tots. There are no more to be had, except the few that may remain on some obscure store shelf, in Dufur or some other small town.
If you want some, I have a source (via E-Bay) who will seel them at 3 for $13, and $2.50 for S&H.
His name is Ron Cable, he is in Ohio, and has an excellent rating as a seller on E-Bay. I sent my check off today, and should get them in about a week. Send me an e-mail on how to contact him.

You like something then they just quit making it, I just hate that. I found a site where someone is selling some at: http://www.walleyecentral.com/dcf/DCForumID9/120.html

See you on the river :-)
