I fished eagle creek from daylight till about 9am this morning. The water was in awesome shape but I couldn't find the fish. I did finally find a small pod of fish up at the bridge above Eagle Fern park. I was the only one fishing that hole and I still couldn't get a hit, I tried eggs, jigs, and just a plain old white with pink dots corky. No luck, didn't see any fish on the bank either for about 60 bankies. I did see lots of fish shooting the ladder at 1o'clock rock so there are some fish in the river. Can anyone help me hook some fish, its been almost two weeks since I hooked up.

Steelie Ben,

Try sandshrimp, or corky and yarn combos that resemble shrimp. Don't forget to add scent to the yarn. Also try moving and rehitting a hole 15- 20 minutes later. Seems those steelies can become better biters after a short break. I can't count how many fish we've hooked in the same hole after letting it relax after hot action. Especially true on Eagle Creek. Just thought I'd help.

Thanks for the tip Chris, I was the first one to fish the hole seriously and still couldn't get hit. I was really suprised at this because that hole is pretty popular.

Try a smaller jig as well. I've had to downsize to ones maybe 1/3 the size of "normal" stealhead jigs in clear water. And while your trying different things maybe throw a few worms. Dark purple bass worms also produce pretty well when nothing else does.

Ben: I fished the same day and got one buck, not bright. You were right, water was good but high. I think they were moving through fast. I have actually had better days on Eagle Creek when the water was lower - so don't stop. Couldn't fish today, but will definately be there tomarrow and Sat. Good fishing, drifter.
