I aquired a Mr. Meat Smoker but no instructions or anything. Anybody know how to use one of these things? It looks like it takes briquettes or wood chunks. Is it any good or should I just get a new electric one?

It depends on how much you want to use it. I have an electric little chief and have used it for 15 years. Had to replace the element and chip pan last year, but it has been a great $50 investment. If you want to smoke sides, get the big chief. I would think that the electrics are easier to use than a wood/charcoal version. (just think of the last time you tried to start a campfire, without gas)
